U-values are a key measure of a window's thermal performance, indicating how effectively a window or door system insulates against heat loss. A lower U-value signifies better insulation, which helps maintain comfortable indoor temperatures while reducing energy costs. Our windows come with high-performance glazing options, including our standard Low E (Low Emissivity) glass, which plays a significant role in improving energy efficiency. The Low E coating reflects heat back into the room during colder months while still allowing natural light to pass through. This helps to keep warmth inside during the winter and minimizes heat gain in the summer, enhancing overall comfort and reducing the need for artificial heating and cooling. Most of the thermal efficiency in any window or door system comes from the glazing, which often constitutes around 80% of the overall area. In today's market, there are several options to consider when specifying the type of glass for your project, with different systems delivering varying performance levels. Reynaers offers a range of systems that can provide different energy efficiency results, depending on your specific needs.

For example, all of our sliding doors come standard with toughened safety glass, featuring a Low Emission (Low E) coating on the inner pane. This coating helps to reflect escaping heat back into the property, improving thermal performance. Depending on your project’s requirements, Reynaers systems can accommodate other glazing options, including solar control glass for enhanced heat regulation and privacy glass for specific applications. We can guide you through these options during our consultation to ensure that the glazing selected maximizes the performance and efficiency of your windows and doors.

Each of our Sliding Door systems will have a unique set of profile dimensions. The main focus is the “Interlock” This is the vertical bar which joins the doors. Different systems will offer varying size interlocks. These range from 20mm to 94mm. The size of the interlock will impede you view into the garden, so often the preference is the slimmer interlocks over the wider. This does also depend on your door width. Even a 94mm interlock over a 5200mm door, is only a 2% visual impedance.

By holding stock of profiles for our most popular systems, we can begin manufacturing immediately, significantly reducing delivery times and avoiding the long shipping delays typically associated with European imports. While sliding door lead times can vary between manufacturers, our mainstream systems can often be delivered in as little as 3-4 weeks, keeping your project on its critical path. For more unique systems, lead times may range from 8-10 weeks, but we provide clear, accurate, and concise delivery estimates at the point of enquiry to help you make informed decisions based on your project’s timeline. Different systems will have varying options for door furniture, track widths, handles, locks etc.. Systems are often selected based on a preference of handle type, colour and appearance.
